...Happy birthday to meeee, happy birthday dear Leeeeaaaaaaah, happy birthday to meeeeee :)

 

Yup, today's my birthday. For the 40 remaining minutes, or whatever it is. I'm FINALLY 19 >_< ;P You know what? Birthdays have lost some of their novelty for me. Coz for me, it's no novelty being 19- coz all my friends have been 19 (or older) for months!!

 

Anyway, it was good and bad in a number of ways.

 

Good coz in the morning I got lotsa "happy birthday" txt messages :) BIG THANKS to Marnie, Caitlin, Ben and Jessie for their messages! And thanks to Justin and BIG BIG "I LOVE YOU" thanks to Andre for the phone calls :)

 

Bad coz the CD player I got from Mum and Dad didn't work... so we exchanged it... the second one didn't work... (for a DIFFERENT REASON!) so we got a refund then bought a completely different one... and it worked!!

 

Good coz I got spiffy computer speakers for the CD player :D

 

Good coz I got lots of other cool presents including the new Newsboys CD, a beaded belt, books, money, spiffy jeans, a necklace, bangle, lip gloss, nice smelling stuff (eg. shower gel, moisturiser, perfume etc)... (and there's more coming!!)

 

Good coz I bought a pretty shirt with some of my birthday money :)

 

Bad coz I missed Caitie and Steve's wedding :( (Long story, can't be bothered telling it :P)

 

Good coz I had Grandma, Grandad, Uncle David, Uncle Philip, Deb, Philip's kids (Louise & Tim), Uncle Geoffrey and Aunty Loraine come round for dinner... we had Pizza Hut and got that "Scene It" DVD game, which was fun.

 

Bad coz I found out Andre might be getting back from the Gold Coast even later than we originally thought when their car had probs.

 

So that was my day in a nutshell. On the whole, I had fun :) And I know I'll continue to have fun over the coming week. So, farewell for now, and I'll be back later ^_^

 

Edit: I took so long writing this (between chatting to people and checking dA :P) That I wasn't able to finish and publish it til 20 past 12. The 31st OF DECEMBER!! GRRRR. >_< Oh well. So YESTERDAY was my birthday :( :P

Ok ok, so I'd better update hey? Hmmm well lots to say...

1) Best semester of uni so far!

2) NTE

3) Christine- all graduated from primary school

4) Holidays

5) Christmas

6) My birthday soon!!

 

Well let's start with number 1. Yes, this was my best semester of uni so far. My least favourite subject, Broadcast Journalism, turned out to be my best with a Distinction. o.O I got Credits for the other 3. My first D ever. Yay for me.

 

Number 2- NTE. What can I say. NTE was great. It was also very tiring. The main talks were not at ANU as usual, but at Rydges which meant we had to walk. It was about 20 minutes each way. On the Monday, in our spare time, a bunch of us girls (and Reuben) went to the Questacon where we met up with Melissa. That was fun and I finally got to meet Glyn :) The next day in our spare time a few of us walked to the National Museum to see the Egyptian display from the Louvre in Paris. Unfortunately we didn't realise the display was at the Art Gallery, not the Museum. So we didn't get to see it :( We still had fun though. This was the first day I noticed a tendon in my foot beginning to hurt. But I ignored it, as you do... and it progressively got worse over the week.

 

Mission in Sydney was great. I went to Mt Druitt with Michelle, Benn, Janelle, Jess, Naomi, Alex, Bek, James, Etienne, Dave, Tim C and Megan. I was involved in High School seminars, morning Sunday School, doorknocking, and Evening church. It was also a great time of getting to know people who I haven't spent a lot of time with in the past (particularly Jess, Etienne & Alex). Bek got suspected appendicitis while we were down there and went to the hospital, but she wasn't bad enough to be operated on. She was supposed to go back to hospital when she got to Brisbane and I haven't heard about her since so hopefully she's ok.

 

On our last day of mission (Sunday) Alex told me I probably had tendonitis in my foot. The tendon made a weird "crunching noise" (as Alex said) whenever I moved my big toe. It has since gotten a lot better (not hurting anymore, and with only a tiny crunchy sensation) but then it got worse again yesterday when I went letterboxing and shopping for 4 hours.

 

Number 3.. *scrolls up to check what #3 is* Christine! Yes. She graduated from primary school the night before Michelle and I returned from NTE. She called me that night to tell me about it- she got an Academic Excellence Award and Scott Wood's Citizenship Award. She was very proud of herself as Michelle received that award as a joint award with her best friend, while Christine got it on her own :P

 

#4... Holidays. Yes. Enough said. Holidays are good. I've caught up on NTE lack of sleep, and we are participating in Stable on the Strand. Michelle, Christine and I are face painting in the Kids' Tent, Mum is narrating puppet plays, Dad's the technical support co-ordinator, and David helped Dad with tech set up during Bump-in. Even Nanna, who is visiting at the moment, has been helping with craft in the Kids' Tent when needed.

 

#5... Christmas. Again, enough said!! Two sleeps til Christmas. I was organised this year. I had all my presents ready before NTE, and they were the first ones wrapped and under the tree. Heh. My organisation this year will make up for my lack of organisation next year :P

 

#6... My birthday. In one week! Yay!! I dunno if I'm doing anything for it. Andre's on the Gold Coast at the moment and won't be back for Christmas or my birthday :( Oh wells.

 

Well, I think that's it. Ooh ooh ooh wait... I forgot something that happened on NTE... JAMES AND TALIA GOT ENGAGED!! YAY!!!! Andre's the Best Man so he's excited about that ;P

 

Ok, so I think that IS it. You're all caught up on my life :P I'm surprised how short I kept it. Oh, and I also finally met Paul Cornish before I went on NTE which was fun ^_^

 

Okies I'm off now. Have fun and I might be back about Christmas day ;)
